We are looking for YOU to join Dr. Julien Park's research group at the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine -- General Pediatrics starting January 1, 2025, with a fixed term of initially 3 years.
Part-time position (65%)
Salary according to TV-L E13, depending on qualifications and assigned responsibilities
The advertised position is located in the newly established Neurometabolism research group (led by Dr. Julien Park) of the department with funding from the CareerS Group Module of the Clinician Scientist program of the Medical Faculty Münster and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical Research Münster. Using a translational approach, we investigate molecular mechanisms of (ultra-)rare neurometabolic diseases with special focus on primary and secondary disorders of redox metabolism. Our goal is to develop innovative therapeutic concepts for these rare diseases.
Your Role:
You will investigate the (dys)regulation of the NRF2/KEAP1 signaling pathway in various redox metabolism disorders and use pathway modulation to develop new therapeutic approaches for currently untreatable diseases.
Your Tasks:
- Independent execution of experiments and evaluation and analysis of collected data
- Planning experimental investigations of scientific hypotheses
- Collaboration with cooperation partners domestically and internationally
- Collaboration with and partial supervision of medical doctoral students
- Contributing to and writing scientific publications and conference presentations
Your Ideal Qualifications:
- Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's, Diploma, or equivalent) in life sciences
- Strong interest in basic and applied metabolic research
- Solid knowledge of basic molecular biology methods and cell culture (immunoblotting, cell culture, transfection of stable cell lines)
- Experience with genetically encoded reporter genes, flow cytometry, CRISPR-Cas9, or Next Generation Sequencing is advantageous but not required
- High intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm, as well as a deep interest in biomedical and infection biology questions
- German or English language skills at C1 level or higher
- Proficient use of MS Office applications
