To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in SFB 1748. The Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 1748 brings together basic and clinical researchers from the University of Münster, University Hospital Münster, the Max Planck Institute, and RWTH Aachen University to unravel the molecular mechanisms of male infertility. Its research focuses on the genetic, molecular, and cellular processes underlying testis formation and function, sperm production and function, fertilisation, and early embryonic development in health and disease – ideally with you on board!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishment and independent leadership of a Junior Research Group within SFB 1748 at an institution of your choice at the University of Münster
- Development and implementation of an independent research programme aligned with the scientific focus of SFB 1748
- Research on testis function, germ cells and sperm, or fertilisation and early embryonic development
- Strengthening and further development of methodological approaches, for example using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) or organoid models
- Active contribution to interdisciplinary collaborations and research networks within SFB 1748
- Contribution to the translation of basic research findings towards a better understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of male infertility
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed doctoral degree in a research field relevant to SFB 1748
- Doctoral thesis defended no more than six years prior to application
- Research profile and proposed research programme with a clear connection to the scientific focus areas of SFB 1748
- Ability to develop and lead an independent research programme within a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment
- Relevant scientific expertise in approaches that complement and strengthen the research activities of SFB 1748
