To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Andrology (CeRA) Our centre specializes in research on male reproductive function. In a multidisciplinary project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), we want to research novel approaches for contraceptives. To this end, we bring together scientists from the University of Münster, University Hospital Münster, and the University of Hamburg. Our goal is to advance the development of innovative, non-hormonal contraceptives that pharmacologically disable the function of sperm. – ideally with you on board!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and performing assays for cell-based drug screening using fluorescent indicators for Ca2+ and membrane potential (Vm).
- Characterizing the pharmacological action of small molecules on ion channels using Ca2+ and Vm fluorometry.
- Performing state-of-the-art cellular motility analysis
REQUIREMENTS:
- other life sciences (required)
- Experienced in using Ca2+- and/or Vm-sensitive fluorescent indicators (Required)
- Experienced in basic microscopy techniques (required)
- Knowledge on basic pharmacological principles (desired)
- Knowledge about sperm physiology and techniques to study sperm function, (desired)
- Commitment to research and development in a translational setting (required)
- Oral and written communication skills in English (required)
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and international team (required)
- Independent, reliable, and structured way of working with a strong sense for quality control (required)
- Flexibility, communication skills, strong motivation, and high ability to work in a team (required)
