The Institute for Experimental Pathology based at the Center for Inflammation Research at the University of Münster, Germany, is offering a position initially limited to 3 years.

 

Full-time with 38,5 hours (100%)
Salary level according to TV-L E13

 

The Medical Faculty of Münster has recently decided to newly establish a decentral core facility for flow cytometry, named MFlow. Our facility is currently equipped with an Aurora analyzer with 6 lasers, a CytoFLEX with 4 lasers, and a spectral sorter, allowing us to provide state-of-the art Flow Cytometry to the Münster Medical Faculty. Flow cytometers and sorters acquired at the Medical Faculty in the future will be allocated to MFlow hence we foresee a gradual growth of the core facility. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Flow Cytometry Specialist to manage and advance our state-of-the-art cytometry platform.
The successful candidate will oversee the flow cytometry platform, managing its daily operations and ensuring optimal performance. You will collaborate with scientists from within the Medical Faculty, offering expertise in experimental design, analysis and sorting. Your role is pivotal to our research endeavors, providing technical support in antibody panel setup,  experiment execution, and advanced data analysis.

 

Your profile:

  • University degree with doctorate in cell biology, biomedicine or life sciences, with postdoctoral experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in sorting and spectral flow cytometry
  • Good understanding of antibody panel development and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Abiltiy to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary research environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of flow cytometry equipment is an asset

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the flow cytometry platform
  • Develop and optimize antibody panels and experimental setups for flow cytometry
  • Provide technical assistance and training to researchers in experiment design, data acquisition, and analysis
  • Collaborate with scientists to support their research needs, both within the lab and from external groups
  • Ensure effective troubleshooting and maintenance of instruments, coordinating with technical support as necessary
  • Stay updated with advancements in flow cytometry techniques and technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of scientific projects and publications

Prerequisites:

  • Applicants will have successfully completed a PhD or MD/PhD in a related field in one of the areas described in this posting
