RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research on the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and neurotransmission
- Investigate the role of synaptic organizer molecules, particularly neurexins
- Analyze defects of these molecules in mutant mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders
- Conduct experiments to study synaptic function and structure in vivo and in vitro
- Apply state-of-the-art methods to analyze synaptic mechanisms and neuronal structure
REQUIREMENTS:
- Above-average Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong motivation for basic science research
- Beneficial: prior experimental experience with the nervous system
- Beneficial: skills in biochemistry, cell culture, electrophysiology, or microscopic techniques
