To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the group of Dr. Maria Florencia Sánchez which is part of the inter-faculty European Institute of Molecular Imaging. Our research focuses in understand how receptors sense the environment and respond by generating selective responses. We will study an undervalued receptor family, plexins. Plexins regulate immune responses and cancer becoming an attractive drug target. By combining nanotechnology, cell biology and advanced microscopy we aim to unravel how plexin receptors regulate immune responses in the context of breast cancer.  The experimental program includes immunology, cell biology, nanotechnology and imaging methods – ideally with you on board!

 

The position is funded by the CRC1450 and the student will be included in a graduate PhD program from this CRC.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly motivated and ambitious students with a master’s in biology/ Immunology (finished no longer than 2 years ago)
  • Experience with lab work (experience working with cancer cells and patient samples is expected)
  • Oral and written communication skills - English (required) and German (desired)
  • Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
