We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our interdisciplinary research team investigating the dynamics of immune cells in cancer. The focus of the project is on single-cell tracking using advanced MRI techniques. As part of the Experimental Magnetic Resonance Group, you will explore immune cell behavior in vivo using time-lapse MRI, intravital microscopy, and histological validation within murine cancer models. We offer an association with the Collaborative Research Centre 1450 “Insight – Multiscale imaging of organ-specific inflammation” graduate school.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizing and advancing time-lapse MRI to track individual immune cells in vivo and investigate their intravascular motion in cancer
  • Performing intravital microscopy, light sheet fluorescence microscopy and histological validation to complement MRI results
  • Participating in collaborative research efforts within CRC1450 Multiscale Imaging and contributing to scientific publications and presentations

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Imaging, Physics, or a related discipline
  • A strong interest in in vivo imaging, cell tracking, functional cell analysis, and data interpretation
  • Previous experience with imaging techniques or animal models is advantageous
  • High scientific motivation and the ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Good command of English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
